There aren’t too many dedicated cheese shops in Los Angeles, and there’s only one that’s a gourmet vegan cheese shop. Vromage is a dairy-free cheese shop that has won over the hearts and taste buds of vegans and non-vegans, even serious cheese eaters who never thought they’d enjoy a plant-based variety. At Vromage, an expert craftsman creates gourmet loafs and wheels of cheese that can be eaten plain, added to a caprese salad or sandwich, or taken to go for enjoyment with crackers at a dinner party or gathering.
Gourmet Nut Cheeses that Are Defining Great Cheese in Los Angeles
Anyone visiting Los Angeles, and who is anywhere close to the West Hollywood area, should stop into Vromage – a small little shop off of Sunset Boulevard that has room for about 6 diners at a cozy bar. It’s an accomplishment and a delight to get hands on cheeses made with nuts (pistachios, cashews, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, and more) and seeds (pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds) as well as a few ingredients that cheesemaker Youssef rightfully wants to keep secret. The space at Vromage is perfect for a quick sit-down meal or a snack, and it’s a nice spot to hang out in for 15 minutes or so while waiting for cheese to go.
Vromage is not far from the Griffith Observatory and Rodeo Drive.
