The Shard

Located just a short walk from the Borough Market and London Bridge Station, The Shard is the tallest building in Western Europe and one of the newest London’s landmarks. It offers amazing views of the city that stretches to 40 miles on a sunny day.

Design & Construction

The Shard was designed by master architect Renzo Piano and the construction of the building started in 2009. External completion was finished just in time for the London Olympics in 2012, while the viewing gallery was finally opened in 2013.

The building features 3 floors of restaurants, office space on 25 floors, a 17-story hotel, and apartments spread across 13 floors. Visitors can take a lift ride to the top floors and enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of London from the observatory deck on the 72nd floor.
