The Field Museum

Chicago is renowned for its vast collection of impressive museums and the Field Museum of Natural History only attests to this fact. The museum is one of the largest in the world and showcases educational and scientific exhibitions, collections and programmes.

What to Expect

To explore this giant museum, you’re going to need to set aside at least two hours, minimum. Inside you’ll find an array of permanent exhibitions, anthropological and cultural artefacts, a library home to over 275,000 books and an array of photo archives on evolutionary biology. Not to mention, some of the earliest fossils on the planet.


For a close-up examination of the worlds largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex head over to the Live Over Time exhibition. To explore Egyptian tombs and mummies visit the Inside Ancient Egypt exhibit or to roam with ice age mammoths or to visit 800-year-old dwellings swing by the Ancient Americans exhibit.
