Sigmund Freud Museum

The Sigmund Freud Museum was founded in 1971 and documents the lifespan of the Austrian neurologist who created the concept of psychoanalysis. Housed in Freud's former abode, the museum will delight history buffs and culture vultures alike.


Inside the building, you can visit Freud’s former practice and his living quarters where he resided for 47 years. The museum’s permeant exhibition features antiques, autographs and photographs of Freud’s work and personal life. There’s also a contemporary art collect by Franz West whose art has been inspired by Freud after he studied him closely.


Admission tickets can be pre-booked online and cost €12 for adults, €11 for citizens and €7.50 for students. Audio guides are available for free and come in six languages while guided tours must be booked ten days in advance and cost an extra €3 per person.
