Riesenrad Ferris Wheel

The Wiener Riesenrad is a giant Ferris Wheel located at the entrance to Prater Amusement Park in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna. This iconic landmark is a great activity to enjoy with friends, family or on your own.

The Ferris wheel was constructed in 1897 to commemorate Emperor Franz Joseph’s accession to the throne, was partially destroyed in WWII and was then rebuilt with fewer carts in the 50’s. The near 65-metre structure also stood as the tallest Ferris wheel in the world for a while until 1985.
