Plaza de Cezar Chavez

The Plaza de Cezar Chavez is one of the over 250 parks maintained by the city of San Jose. The park has plenty of benches, paths for a leisurely stroll, lawns for a picnic and best of all, a fountain for you to splash in.

As old as San Jose

The Plaza was created in the late 18th century and is the oldest space of its kind in California. What sets it apart though is that the 2.2 acres of wide, open space is right in the middle of one of the busiest parts of the city.

Special events

The Plaza is a venue for music festivals, arts and craft fairs as well as the hugely popular landmark holiday event, Christmas in the Park when the Plaza is transformed into a magical winter wonderland.

The historical Plaza is also a short walk away from the Tech Museum of Innovation and the San Jose Museum of Art.

For most parts of the year, the Plaza de Cezar Chavez is an ideal place for visitors to relax, unwind and get a breath of fresh air.
