Osteria Cassia Vetus does local produce, prepared the old-fashioned way, so well that restaurants with Michelin stars would be right to be jealous of it, and that’s only the mains menu. The best of what this charming little restaurant has to offer lies in the dessert menu–homemade ice-cream, made from local, seasonal ingredients, with a rotating list of flavours that changes with what’s freshest and best at the time. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting in the summer, Osteria Cassia Vetus has a wonderful terrace where you can sit back, relax, and take in the surrounding countryside. Even in the winter, the outlook over the Arno valley remains a breathtaking view, and one you won’t soon forget.
