Legacy of Marie Tussaud
The museum was founded by Marie Tussaud, a wax sculptor par excellence from France. She moved to London after the Revolution where she continued to create wax figurines which were exhibited at Baker Street from 1835. Her grandsons moved the museum to its current location in 1884.
