Los Angeles Lakers: A History of NBA Championships
The Los Angeles Lakers made their way to 6 NBA (National Basketball Association) Finals in the 1960’s, and the decades after that proved to be as good for Laker owners and fans. The 70s gave us amazing play by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who won multiple MVP awards. The “Showtime” era of the 80’s, which had Magic Johnson leading the team’s breakout offense, gave Los Angeles 5 championships within 9 years. In the 90s, it was Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal who dazzled crowds and brought more titles to LA.
Enjoy Basketball and a Night Out
The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, which is in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, in an area that’s recently been revitalized and now has many great bars and entertainment venues – such as L.A. Live. A visit to Los Angeles should include a Lakers game for anyone who’s a sports fan or simply wants to enjoy an iconic activity in the city.
Before a night out at a Lakers game, it can be fun to spend the day shopping in Beverly Hills, on Rodeo Drive.
