A genuine Tuscan experience

Locanda Apuana is situated in the town of Colonnata, which you may or may not know is famous for a dish called lardo. As you might guess from the name, this is a delicacy made of pig fat, cured with salt and herbs and served more or less like ham, but in incredibly thin slices. Though slices of cured fat may not sound appetising, Locanda Apuana serves this local dish in an assortment of mouth-watering ways that will make you look at fat in a whole new light. That said, this is possibly not the place for those on a strict diet.

Gorgeous surrounds

Colonnata itself is situated in the Apuan Alps, so both the restaurant itself and the journey there and back boast breathtaking views. Add to this a cozy, homely interior and Locanda Apuana becomes a wonderful place to visit on a trip during the colder months to cozy up with a glass of wine and some wintry cuisine.
