Four exciting destinations in London for children

Let’s face it - fabulous cities don’t always plan their great attractions around families with children but London has a number of destinations that welcome children. We list some of them so your little ones can enjoy the city just as much as the grown-ups do.

The Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood

Children will love the exciting Museum of Childhood, a dream wonderland of childhood treasures. It houses UK’s largest collection of dolls, over a 100 dollhouses, 3000 games from all around the world, children’s furniture, paintings, puppets, intricate paper models, action figures, vehicles – the list is exhausting but truly amazing and memorable.

Crystal Palace Park

Every family has at least one child who roars like a mighty T. rex. Well, then Crystal Palace Park is where the little ones ought to spend a day. The park, where even the non-dino lovers have buckets of fun, boasts of full-scale dinosaur models, a maze made of trees, children’s play area, lakes, lawns and more!

Hours: 07:30 am to 07:00 pm

ZSL London Zoo

The spectacular London Zoo boasts of over 17,000 animals spanning 765 species of birds, reptiles, mammals and more. Highlights include Gorilla Kingdom, Land of the Lions, Tiger Territory, Into Africa and Rainforest Lookout which introduce children to different kinds of forests and their inhabitants. The Zoo also has an aquarium, insect house, an aviary and a colorful Butterfly Paradise.

Hours: 10:00 am to 06:00 pm (Closes at 04:00 during winter)

Vauxhall City Farm

Vauxhall City Farm is a welcoming destination for children as they can pat and stroke friendly farm animals. There’s Barney and Betty, who are goats, Waffle the goose, several budgies, miniature chickens, pigs, sheep and rabbits but the stars of the farm are really Ben, Jerry and Tom, a trio of loveable alpacas. The farm also makes for an ideal picnic spot with plenty of space for the children to run around and play.

Hours: 10:30 am to 04:00 pm (Closed on Mondays)
