Don’t leave Rio without a visit

If you go to Copacabana Beach for one reason alone, it should be to say that you’ve been. This world-famous beach is famous for a reason, however–you won’t find many more spectacular in the world. Of course, everyone knows this, so be ready to fight for your spot on the sand if you mean to enjoy some time there. For a slightly less crowded experience, head over early in the morning or after sunset–don’t worry, the beach doesn’t shut down after dark. This is Rio, after all.

Cozy up to the locals

Copacabana isn’t just a beach–it also includes a vibrant beachside shopping district where there’s almost nothing you can’t buy. The traders can be pushy, but that’s part of the fun, too. Keep your wits about you and you’ll be fine. When you’re done exploring, you can pick a bar or a restaurant to relax in and soak up the sights and sounds of Rio.
