Buen Retiro Park is one of the largest parks in Madrid. It’s the perfect place to take a relaxing stroll through lush green gardens, and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. On a sunny day you can spot magicians, clowns, runners and cyclists all enjoying the park. The view is extra special in autumn as the leaves turn a beautiful golden colour.
The park houses the oldest tree in Madrid. The bald cypress tree which is estimated to be 400 years old is int the Parterre Francés gardens. There are also many sculptures and fountains dotted about the park. One in particular piques many people’s interest, as it represents the Fallen Angel. There aren’t many cities in the world that display monuments of the devil!

Buen Retiro park offers entertainment around every corner. The Velázquez and Glass palaces display stunning Spanish architecture, and usually have exhibitions on show.
