A vibrant choice
This little hostel really puts the cheerful in cheap and cheerful, with its bright pink exterior and well-lit rooms. Unlike many hostels, this one offers a range of private rooms, but fear not if you’re staying in a dorm–the beds are as comfortable as they are attractive, and surprisingly private, too. Whichever you choose, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find the rooms comfortable, spacious, and very clean, and the staff friendly and helpful.
A taste of Brazilian history
The hostel used to be the home of musician Tom Jobim, a famous Brazilian singer and songwriter. His presence can still be felt in the party atmosphere–this is definitely the place to come if dancing into the early morning is your thing. Nightly pool parties are perhaps one of the hostel’s best features, though the free breakfast is highly rated as well. For a taste of authentic Brazilian life, this is the place to choose.
