Party like a local
If you’re not a fan of tourist traps and you want to see how the people live, Bip Bip is the place for you. This unassuming storefront transforms into a frenetic informal samba spot, which takes over the whole neighbourhood as the evening progresses. This is what it’s like to be a local in Rio, and everyone’s welcome. Wear your comfy shoes, because you’ll be dancing well into the night!
Experience the best of Rio
Other than Carnival season, this is Rio at it’s best and most vibrant. These informal sessions go on every night of the week except Saturdays–samba on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, choro on Mondays and Tuesdays and bossa nova on Wednesdays–and you have to be there yourself to understand the energy there. There’s nothing else in the world quite like it, and you’ll kick yourself later if you don’t head down at least once.
