Popular Street Food
Vietnam is known for its street food, and banh mi may be the most popular street food in the nation. Served on half of a French baguette–pain demi–these Vietnamese sandwiches feature different ingredients depending on who’s cooking. But they’re almost always delicious. Far outside of the tourist district, Banh Mi Ha Noi makes some of the best sandwiches in Ho Chi Minh City.
Egg On Top
Like most street vendors, Banh Mi Ha Noi makes and sells their food from a small stand. However, theirs is a lot easier to spot than some others, as it occupies a storefront bearing the same name. While they offer multiple varieties, their namesake sandwich is the best–it comes with a fried egg on top. They pile the toasted bread high with tasty ingredients, all for a mere 20,000 dong.
It’s important to remember that all street vendors run small operations, so they can’t take credit cards. One of the best things about Banh Mi Ha Noi is that it’s so close to several other little-known street food wonders. Pho Le and Banh Canh Cua 14 are both within walking distance.
