Little shop, delectable delights
All you get to see when you arrive at the address is an obscure little shop with a signboard that says ‘ice-cream parlour, homemade pastry, Italian gastronomy.’ But peek in beyond the no-frills exterior and you see ice cream counters laden with multi-hued gelatos and sorbets. Lean in a bit more and you’re treated to an enchanting array of pastries and delectable macaroons. But there’s more to this quaint Italian café and gelateria.
By night, this eatery is transformed to a haven of Italian cuisine that serves sublime culinary delights dreamed up by Mustapha Mouflih and Alessandro Altoni who’ve cut their teeth at Michelin-starred restaurants.
Authentic Italian cuisine
The adventure takes off when you’re ushered into a modest dining area. Before you know it, you get to hear the names of several Italian dishes. Yes, they do it the old-school way because their menu changes every week and possibly every day. Despite their diverse offerings, there is always a meat and fish special. All their pasta is freshly made and their ravioli specials will make you thank your lucky stars. Other notables are the Rosemary Baba, Aubergine Parmigiana, Oxcheek Canneloni to mention a few.
By the way, you simply have to make a reservation for dinner. Of course, you can always walk away with a sorbet on a cone, any time of the day.
