Abita Springs

Take a day trip to Abita Springs to tour a brewery and visit some quirky attractions.

Home to Louisiana’s Largest Brewery

Tourists who like beer or just enjoy seeing how things are made can have fun taking day trips from New Orleans to Abita Springs, Louisiana. Abita Springs is home to the headquarters of the state’s largest and oldest brewery, and it just built a brand-new visitors center that offers self-guided tours that travelers love. The Abita Brewery sits in what’s a small, sleepy town that also houses a museum, pavilion, and picnic area. It can be fun to plan for an entire day spent in Abita Springs, primarily for the more than 21 years of age crowd.

Visit the Albita Mystery House

Abita Springs used to feature eponymous springs flowing abundantly, but now the beer is the only thing that flows in large amounts there. Visitors to Abita Springs are okay with this, though, as they come to the town primarily to taste small-batch craft beers and to simply enjoy a leisurely day in a charming place. After a tour of Abita Brewery, many travelers like to stop by the Abita Mystery House, which is a converted gas station that has a bunch of weird things inside.
