A Cevicheria

Brazilian chef Kiko Martin’s already had one Lisbon restaurant under his belt (O Talho) when he opened up the acclaimed A Cevicheria restaurant in the heart of the city. Kiko’s focus is entirely on the popular Peruvian dish of ceviche which traditionally features chunks of raw cod, marinated in lime, chilli and salt and pepper. Kiko’s taken this dish and added his own flair serving it with sea bass, salmon and tuna ceviche! A Cevicheria is the only place to dine in Lisbon if you’re after authentic South American cuisine.

What to Order

The menu is mainly made up of ceviche dishes along with other Peruvian delicacies and South American cuisine including surf-and-turf mini bites and beef and horseradish tacos. The salmon and tuna service dishes are popular dishes and come with an array of toppings including seaweed, lemongrass and lupin beans. Another must-try dish is the roasted octopus served with black mashed potatoes. When it comes to dessert, choose between delicious coconut mousse with passion fruit and sweet quinoa with ginger foam.

Where is it

This popular eatery sits just to the side of Principe Real Garden off R. Dom Pedro V street and becomes rather crowded come the weekend. It’s well worth waiting for a table, and you can sink some Pisco Sours while you wait! Make sure you take a photo of the giant octopus hanging from the ceiling, it’s the A Cevichera trademark!
