Vienna Spanish Horse Riding School

Whether you’re a seasoned equestrian or you’ve simply got a few hours to kill, a trip to the Vienna Spanish Horse Riding School should be on the cards. The school sits in central Vienna, and the public are invited to watch performances by the Lipizzan horses.

The riding school, which boasts fantastic baroque architecture, first opened in 1735 and is the only institution in the world which has practised the Renaissance tradition of Haute Ecole (a riding style) for 450 years.

This traditional riding school puts on regular shows throughout the year where audiences can enjoy dressage performances. Alternatively, from Tuesday – Friday of each week the school runs training sessions, and the public are welcome to watch the Lipizzan horses being put to their paces in the ring. Check the website in advance to see what’s on.
