Valle Nevado

Valle Nevado is the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere and at a short distance from Santiago, the most modern and popular ski resort in Chile.

On the Andes Mountains

Valle Nevada was established in 1988 on the slopes of the Cerro El Plomo on the Andes Mountain Range by French businessmen in partnership with Chilean operators. This collaboration also brought in advanced technology used in European ski resorts like the first detachable chairlift in the region as well as Chile’s first mountain cable car.

Activities and Attractions

Valle Nevado (snowy valley in Spanish) stretches over 2000 acres with dry, powdery snow that makes it an ideal place for skiing, heli-skiing, snowboarding and a host of winter games. The truly adventurous often venture out into hiking on virgin snow slopes as well as hang-gliding from off the gorgeous summits.

Besides, there are several restaurants, bars, hotels as well as a discotheque, spa and heated pool that make Valle Nevado a great destination for a holiday.

Handy Tip:

  • Valle Nevado is snowed in for most part of the year. So snow chains are always recommended for vehicles.
