A peak to remember
The Peak, a fond eponym for Victoria Peak, is the highest mountain on Hong Kong Island at 552 meters. Also known as Mount Austin, it affords fabulous views across the city’s gravity-defying skyline, its prized harbor and the neighboring islands. The Peak also houses several attractions for people of all ages.
Attractions at the Peak
The Peak is home to Hong Kong’s iconic architectural symbol, the Peak Tower with its distinctive boat-like top which allows you to enjoy a remarkable 360° view at the Sky Terrace 428. The Tower and its neighbor, the Peak Galleria are luxury malls where you can enjoy shopping as well as dining in restaurants that span a wide range of cuisines.
The adventurous can indulge in a trail or two on the mountain while little ones can enjoy the Mount Austin Playground.
Finally, when all is done, you can head to the Victoria Peak Park, a beautiful place to stroll around in and soak in the Hong Kong magic in the warm glow of the setting sun.
- The best route to the Peak is via the Peak Tram that winds up the picturesque mountain-side every 15 minutes from the Peak Tram Lower Terminus.
- The summit is restricted government property but the rest of the mountain is freely accessible for visitors.
- You might also like to enjoy the famed Madame Tussauds wax museum housed at the Peak Tower.
