Shingle Creek Golf Club

Tee up for a round at a course that is fit for a tournament of champions.

History of Shingle Creek

Years ago, the land that is now home to the golf club was forested for its cypress trees. The nearby river was used to transport the cypress to a mill downstream that processed them into shingles. In 2003, Shingle Creek Golf club was established, and it has been recognized by golf authorities such as Golf Digest as being a great place to golf.

Well-Manicured Course

Drive your ball from any of the five sets of tee boxes at each hole. The luscious fairways are marked by challenging water hazards and bunkers. The upscale course is quiet and casual. Walk or rent a golf cart, outfitted with a GPS device for easy navigation. Rosen Shingle Creek, a hotel built in the Spanish-revival style adds elegance to the course’s prestige. Stay & Play packages are available.

Practice Makes Perfect

Prepare for your ace in the hole by loosening up your muscles and practicing your swing at the driving range. (Bags of balls are sold for $6.) Take a few chip shots on either of two chipping greens. Nearby are three putting greens. If you are serious about improving your golf game, consider a lesson from one of the nation’s best instructional facilities: Brad Brewer Golf Academy, located onsite.
