A luxurious tented camp in an extremely untapped part of the Masai Mara. Located on the convergence of the Sand and Keekerok rivers in the heart of the Masai Mara, Sala’s Camp is one of the smallest and most intimate lodges in this iconic national reserve.

There is no other camp in the area that gives guests such superb access to the action when from July to September over a million wildebeest pour into the Mara’s lush grasslands from the Serengeti. Not only is it surrounded with one of the world’s most prolific game areas, it’s location also allows access to some of the most untouched parts in the Mara where game viewing is less likely to be shared with other tourists.

The property consists of seven individual canvas ‘tents’ one of which is a larger honeymoon /family suite. An intimate tented camp with all the comforts you could wish for including bathrooms with hot showers and running water.

Activities

At Sala’s Camp we offer a variety of excursions. You can see the Big Five on a 4×4 game drive and take to a hot-air balloon for a panoramic aerial safari. Sala’s Camp’s resident big cats give you the opportunity to see these astonishing animals at close quarters. Sala’s Camp is the first camp in the Mara to witness the wildebeest migration.

We also offer other experiences including candle-lit romantic dinners on the riverbank and star-gazing nights where you can learn about the formations in the dark unpolluted skies. Sala’s Camp offers a special program for children where our spotters teach young guests all the secrets of the bush.
