Restaurant Gary Danko has been a Fisherman’s Wharf mainstay for almost two decades now, and anyone who has dined there can tell you why– the food is incomparable. This Michelin-rated restaurant has received James Beard awards and countless others. The food is in large part locally grown and farmed. If you’re choosing an appetizer to pair with your entree, or if you are sampling from the tasting menu (not a bad idea for first-timers) be sure to try the oysters with Black Sea caviar and lettuce cream. Substantial eaters will be delighted by flavorful breast of duck with duck hash as their entree. Just as hearty, try the bison. Seafood lovers will adore the roasted Maine lobster. For a sweet treat after your meal, choose one of three desserts prepared table side. ( I am partial to the rum raisin ice cream, but then, who isn’t?)
