Paddy’s Market

Sydney is home to a handful of fresh fruit and vegetable markets, but the most popular has to be Paddy’s Market, a chain of two central based markets selling everything from fresh fish to hand-carved pottery. If you’re looking for a gift or souvenir to commemorate your time in Sydney, this is the place to start searching!

 Market Stalls

The markets have been running in Sydney for well over 150 years and have established a prominent trade of fresh fruit, vegetables and handicrafts across the city. There are over 1,000 stalls at the Haymarket venue, and you can expect to find artisan vendors selling their local produce at a reasonable price.

How to Get Here

There are two Paddy’s Markets to choose from, one in Haymarket and one in Flemington. From the Sydney Opera House take the short walk to Circular Quays and board the 301 or 303 to the affluent neighbourhood of Surrey Hills where you’ll find Haymarket. The ride takes under 30 minutes. Flemington sits a little further out of the city and can be accessed by the T2 train from Circular Quay.
