A cultural tradition
The Ooeda Onsen was established in 2003, and is the first of its kind in Tokyo. It soon became popular as city folks discovered the pleasures of leisurely soaking within a natural hot water spring. The Ooeda Onsen goes a step further and gives visitors the option to choose from a Rock Salt Sauna to Big Bath to Mist Sauna to open-air barrel bath. The more adventurous can opt for Kinu-no-Yu (bath of silk) which employs micro-nano bubbles to soothe and refresh tired travellers.
More than hot springs
Besides a wide range of spa and sauna facilities, Ooeda Onsen also houses a themed Edo Town. The bustling common areas feature a wide range of restaurants, lounges, landscaped foot baths, carnival games, tatami rooms and more!
A visit to Ooeda Onsen is one of those must-do experiences to enjoy when on a trip to Japan.
- Visitors with tattoos are not permitted within Ooeda Onsen just as in many other onsen in Japan.
- Free shuttle services are available from Tokyo Teleport, Tokyo Station Yaesu and Shinagawa Station.
