Lakeland Motor Museum

Sitting on the banks of the River Leven, just a stone's throw from the town of Backbarrow is the Lakeland Motor Museum. Car fanatics and petrol heads alike will delight at this museum's impressive exhibition of vehicles from across the decades.


The museum is home to the largest collection of vehicles in the UK and houses over 30,000 exhibits as it traces the development of road transport through the ages. Visitors can enjoy wandering from the vintage and veteran exhibits right through to the 1920’s garage and classic car display.

Opening Times

The museum is open seven days a week and is the perfect rainy day activity, make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment and to enjoy a 10% early bird discount. Adults entry is £7.70, children’s tickets, aged 5-15, is £4.50 and those under five years enter for free. There’s also a family pass for £21.60 which admits two adults and up to three children.
