The kitchen at La Casa en el Aire dishes out soulful fusions of popular Chilean and Colombian cuisine. Cheesy empanaditas, carne asada, fried yuca, arepas, and guacamole all play prominently on the plate. Ample coffee offerings and a well-stocked bar round out the menu.
Ultimately, La Casa en el Aire’s heart isn’t in its kitchen, but on its stage. Since its founding in 1993, the bar has fully embraced the arts. They consider Santiago a premier bohemian town filled with talent, both musical and not. Literary Tuesdays and storytelling Wednesdays accompany the daily concert lineup.
Some of the excellent artists who have performed at La Casa en el Aire include musicians Frank Delgado, Eduardo Gatti, and Pedro Guerra, as well as poets Pedro Lembel and Stella Diaz. The bar was also the site for the First International Storytelling Festival, an effort supported by the University of Chile and the Embassy of Colombia.
