Hong Kong Observation Wheel

Hong Kong is a lively city that embraces its visitors with spectacular attractions. And, nothing quite celebrates the fun-side of a city like a gigantic Ferris Wheel. Welcome to Hong Kong Observation Wheel, the city’s answer to the London Eye.

Ferris Wheel on the promenade

The Observation Wheel was inaugurated in December 2014 on the picturesque waterfront promenade that overlooks the world-class Victoria Harbor. The 60-metre tall wheel boasts 42 air-conditioned gondolas that can seat 10 people each. Though it may not be large compared to its peers in other cities but it makes up for it by going around three times for every ride.

Stunning views

Thanks to its strategic location, you get to enjoy stunning views of the city skyline and the South China Sea and the outlying islands, by day or night. Naturally the wheel is lit up brilliantly at night and makes for a great romantic evening too. If you’re in the gondola at 08:00 pm, you’ll get to see the Symphony of Lights too.

By the way, did we mention the gondolas are Wi-Fi enabled? Yes, absolutely essential for social media buffs! 🙂
