Hidcote Manor

Hidcote Manor is a quintessential English garden that is renowned for being a living work of art.

Classic English Garden

Hidcote, spread over 10.5 acres of greenery, was created by Major Lawrence Johnston, an avid plant collector who travelled extensively to add to his precious garden. The garden in Hidcote Manor boasts “outdoor rooms”, each with its unique character – Mrs. Winthrop’s Garden, Red Borders, Pine Circle, and Plant Shelter. In a tribute to the founder, many of the rare plants cultivated here still bear the founding name – Lavandula Angustifolia ‘Hidcote Pink’, Fuchsia ‘Hidcote Beauty’, Hypericum ‘Hidcote Gold’ and Dianthus ‘Hidcote Red’. After taking in the beauty of the gardens, visitors can enjoy activities like Tennis and Croquet or visit the Underwater World and The Wider Estate.

Cafes and Shops

There are two charming cafes here – Winthrop’s Café and Barn Café where you can treat yourself to scones, sandwiches, tray bakes and a variety of drinks. The Hidcote shop located within the main Courtyard Garden displays a fascinating array of local produce including marmalades and fudges.
