Eixample

L’Eixample is a famous district of Barcelona located between the old city and the small towns of Sants, Gracia and Sant Andrea. The area is renowned for housing some of Antoni Gaudi's finest work and is categorised by a long street of high-class residential apartments and designer shops. The area also has a vibrant nightlife and a growing café scene too.

Passeig de Gracia Shopping

The district is within walking distance from most of Barcelona’s biggest attractions and is serviced by the metro. Many tourist head here to enjoy the wealth of shopping found down Passeig de Gracia, the main street that cuts through the heart of Eixample. Here you’ll find designer brands including Prada, Louis Vuitton and Chanel making it the cities most luxury shopping destination.

Gaudi Architecture

The district is home to some of Barcelona’s best art nouveau pieces including Casa Mila (the Pedrera Building), one of Gaudi’s last residential properties. Other modernista architects who influenced Eixample include Josep Puig I Cadafalch. It’s here that you’ll also find the world-famous Sagrada Familia too, an architectural landmark that’s a must-see on any visit to Barcelona.
