Crane Beach

This beautiful beach used to be an old harbour, and gets its name from the clifftop crane used to load and unload ships. It has soft white sand and powerful waves which are great for body surfing.

Wild Beauty

Crane Beach is a stunning stretch of light sand and powerful waves which are great for boogie boarding and body surfing. Located on the South East coast, this beach has been rated one of the top ten in the world. It is certainly one of the most breathtaking spots on the island.

Access To The Beach

There are two ways to access the beach. Either through the Crane Resort, which is perched high on the cliffs and has both an elevator and steps down. Or at the small car park at the other end of the beach, where there is a pathway and steps down to the sea. All beaches in Barbados are public, and can be accessed by anyone.

Sun, Drinks And Fun

The sand is white and wonderfully soft. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent, as well as drinks served in young coconuts. The sea can get quite rough, so there are areas reserved for good swimmers only. For people who enjoy a bit of adrenaline, there’s a cliff jump into the ocean which is great fun.
