Caino

Located just a short drive from the Tuscan Coast in a small hilltop town of Montemerano, Caino is a two-star Michelin restaurant that serves delicious traditional Tuscan dishes. The restaurant has the romantic atmosphere of an authentic Italian dining spot with its nine tables.

The Story of Caino

In 1987, Maurizio Menichetti and Chef Valeria Piccini decided to open a restaurant that would mainly focus on Tuscan cuisine. Valeria’s amazing cooking skills and her dedication to serving dishes made from fresh local ingredients resulted in their first Michelin star. Today, Caino is considered to be one of the best restaurants in the region and attracts many locals as well as tourists.

What to Eat

Some of the most interesting combinations such as saffron potatoes and roasted veal tongue sandwich are made here at Caino. Try the hare with pumpkin cream and order a bottle of local Tuscan wine, and you won’t go wrong. Most guests like that seafood dishes prepared by Valeria are surprisingly light and have that unique Tuscan flavor.
