Bloomingdale’s SoHo

The Bloomingdale’s brand is known for carrying up-scale designer clothing, accessories, and luxury items. Bloomingdale’s SoHo carries this name for two reasons: First, it is located in the New York City neighborhood “South of Houston Street.” Secondly, this location carries high-end merchandise that tends to be less expensive than area boutiques and other Bloomingdale’s locations.

Still, prices are high.  But enjoy browsing, and keep a watch out for end-of-season sales and clearance selections for super deals.

When the Bloomingdale brothers began their business in 1861, they quickly earned a reputation for selling hoop skirts. Now Bloomingdale’s SoHo is known for its smashing collection of women’s denim.  Be sure to check the store’s website for upcoming special events, such as contests and consultations from visiting experts.

The store, which was built in the art deco style, is open from 10 am to 9 pm weekdays and Saturday. On Sunday, hours of operation are from 12 pm to 8 pm.  If you get hungry during your Bloomingdale’s SoHo shopping experience, stop at Forty Carrots on the second floor.  Menu choices include frozen yogurt, smoothies, pizza, and other beverages and snacks.  Forty Carrots opens at the same time as the store, but it closes an hour before Bloomingdale’s SoHo.
