Bathsheba Beach

Big waves in the Atlantic ocean make this a great place for surfing. It is a wild area of outstanding natural beauty, with huge rock formations that stand in the sea.

Big Surf And Wild Beaches

Bathsheba beach is located on the wilder East coast of Barbados, and is home to one of the best surf breaks in the world. In fact Kelly Slater rated it as one of his top 3 favourite places to surf. The beach itself has impressive rock formations, and is visited by people from all over the island due to its outstanding natural beauty.

Setting Off On An Adventure

This part of the island can be difficult to get to if you don’t know your way, and it’s an exciting journey with very steep roads. The bus network in Barbados is very good, and only costs $1 no matter where you’re going. However Bathsheba is in quite a remote area, so driving or taking a taxi would be the fastest option.

A Lesser Known Area

The beach isn’t a great place for swimming as the waves are big and currents are strong, but there are shallow rock pools along the sand which are perfect for cooling off. Round House is a good spot to watch skilled surfers, and take in the scenes of the wild coast that not many people know about.
