This 1 day walk at Aguas de San Ramon Park offers Andes walking without driving for hours into the mountains. You need to get to the park before 10am, pay around 2,000 to enter, have appropriate footwear, lots of water (3 liters or more recommended) and lots of sun protection.
Check the weather before you go. Best not to walk in rain or high winds.
This walk took us along the more popular southerly track up to a beautiful water fall. We then took the less well trodden northerly route down the mountain. For the northerly route it is worth having a GPS and map as a backup. We used ViewRanger app.
